Haridwar · Rishikesh · Mussoorie Tour
The three-in-one favourite — the holy ghats, riverside Rishikesh and the Queen of the Hills.
About this journey
The Triveni tour puts the three most accessible highlights of Uttarakhand into four days — the holy city of Haridwar, the river town of Rishikesh, and the hill station of Mussoorie. It is the trip we suggest for first-time visitors, for families travelling with both grandparents and grandchildren, and for anyone with a long weekend who wants a genuine change of scene rather than a checklist. Nothing on this route involves a trek or an altitude that anybody needs to worry about.
It opens in Haridwar with the evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, where being a local house means we can place you well before the crowd builds. The next morning covers Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi by their respective cable cars, the Moti Bazaar, and Bharat Mata Mandir if there is appetite, before the short drive upstream to Rishikesh — where the Ganga is suddenly a fast green mountain river and the mood shifts entirely.
Rishikesh is a day of bridges, ashrams and cafés: Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, the Beatles Ashram in the forest with its painted meditation domes, and the evening aarti at Parmarth Niketan, which is quieter and more musical than Haridwar's. Rafting, bungee jumping and a morning yoga class are all optional additions we can book with certified operators; equally, the day works beautifully as nothing more strenuous than a walk along the ghats and a long lunch by the water.
The final leg climbs to Mussoorie, two and a half hours up from the Doon Valley, for Mall Road, the Gun Hill ropeway, Camel's Back Road at sunset and — if you have the time — the quiet lanes of Landour above the town. From there it is an easy run back down to Dehradun or Haridwar for your departure. The vehicle and driver stay with you across all four days, so the pace is yours to set and the plan can change at breakfast without anybody needing to rearrange anything.
